Biography Project #1
Due to some confusion over the collection of the Biography #1 when my sub was in, I have moved this project into the second quarter for all CP classes. If you have not submitted the research packet together with your essay/questions or vice versa, I need these materials ASAP. And for those of you who hadn't completed it, you're welcome for the gift of extra time.
Cheers,
Mr. Cote

Preview of Week Ending (11/07)
This week is bound to be crazy...there is a teacher workshop on Tuesday. I will be gone to a conference on Wednesday, and I will be in a meeting during block 2G on Thursday. I am not sure, at this point, if the resources that I am requesting will be available for my subs, so these plans are subject to change...
World History 9 (CP)
One class will address the formation of Germanic Kingdoms amidst the ruins of the Western Roman Empire. This lesson will begin with a Group Reading Inventory (a literacy diagnostic tool) and will be followed by classwork on a Middle Ages packet. For homework, students will complete a Profile on Charlemagne.
It is my intention to show the movie "Castle" for the other class. There will be a guided viewing sheet that will be collected after the video. Students will then attempt to complete the Middle Ages packet.
World History 9 (Hon)
Our first class will, no doubt, be the viewing of the movie "Castle" together with the guided viewing sheet.
The other class will begin with the completion of our Socratic Seminar on the two civilized powers of the Middle Ages (the Islamic Caliphate and the Byzantine Empire). Next, students will complete the GRI on the Germanic Kingdoms. Students will then begin the textbook evaluation. For homework over the weekend, students will complete the profile of Charlemagne.
