Preview of Week Beginning 09/28

White Day + Honors

Monday: We will review the rough drafts of our introductions for the comparative essay in class and will begin to make rough drafts of the body. If students have not yet submitted the Buddhism cloze or the Confucianism profile, this is their last chance.

Wednesday: We will review the rough drafts of the body and begin to draft the conclusion. Students should also complete the comparison chart and the Need 2 Know Sheet in preparation for Competitive History Jeopardy.

Friday: Students will compete in Competitive History Jeopardy, a team based game which earns real points (up to 5 total) on the final assessment.

Green Day

Preview of Week Ending 09/25

My laptop is still waiting to be repaired, which has made communication more difficult of late. I am still recompiling my digital list of addresses, so if you know someone who wants to get the email who isn't, please notify me ASAP.

Green Day

Monday - We will start Confucianism with a discussion of the Analects. This will be followed by direct instruction. For a summarizer, students will complete a profile on Confucius.
Wednesday - Students will begin writing their comparison essays. The introduction and the comparison map should be completed by next class.
Friday - Students will work on the body and conclusion of their comparison essays. These should be finished over the weekend.

White Day

Tuesday - We will be beginning our unit on World Religions with direct instruction re: Judaism. In class, students will complete a summarizer worksheet on Judaism. For homework, students should complete the Understanding Others cloze activity.

Thursday - The Judaism Worksheet and Understanding Others are due. We will we doing a cooperative research activity about Christianity in class. For homework, students will have to complete a Christianity summarizer worksheet.
