White Day
On Tuesday, we will begin with a group activity to identify the means of exploration that were available to Europeans in the Fifteenth century. We will follow this with a guided reading concerning European motivations for exploration. Midterm exams will be returned and discussed. For homework, students who have not done so should complete the guided reading.
On Thursday, we will have direct instruction concerning the methods of European exploration and colonization. For homework, students will have a worksheet on Spanish Missions.
Green Day

On Wednesday, we will begin with a class discussion on the means of European expansion and will follow it with an analysis of a primary source (Don Miguel Lopez de Legazpi). Exams will be returned and discussed.
On Thursday, we will have direct instruction concerning the methods of European exploration and colonization. For homework, students will have a primary source comparison on Spanish colonization (De Las Casas).
