This will be a pivotal week with alot of work for students - even if not much will be graded during this week. Don't let that get you off task - if you slack, the chickens will come home to roost next week.
White Day & Honors
Monday - Enlightenment Learning Extension: we will have a review of the concept of Absolutism and the presentation of the group posters. This will be followed by work on the Need 2 Know sheets for the Competitive History Jeopardy and the selection of teams. For homework, Honors students will have the third primary source reading in preparation for the DBQ.
Wednesday - Competitive History Jeopardy! Teams compete in an exciting review game for very real bonus points on the exam.
Friday - Essay workshop, part I:
Students will be divided into heterogeneous literacy groups for research on four different essay topics. After a brainstorming process, students will divide into homogeneous literacy groups for peer editing and mutual development of their essays for the exam. I will model each element of essay writing. All students will have a chance to consult with me regarding the development of his or her essay.
