White Day (CP), Block 4:
We will be continuing our investigation of Ancient Greece and the birth of democracy this week. On Monday, April 14, we will have a presentation on the rise of the polis. For homework, students will have a packet on the government of Sparta to complete. On Wednesday, we will analyze the government of Sparta as a class with reference to the US federal government and will work together to update our World History portfolios. For homework over the vacation, students will have a packet on the government of Athens. Students should begin preparing for a quiz on the birth of democracy in Greece on May 1.
Red Day (Hon), Block 4:
We will be meeting only once this week. The session will focus on the history of the rise and fall of Classical Greece (the guided reading that is due on Tuesday), and a group comparison of the governments of Athens and Sparta. Over the vacation, students will have a packet on the Hellenistic Age and a research chart on famous Greeks that will be due on Monday, April 28. Students should be prepared for a quiz on the birth of democracy in Greece on April 30.
