
White Day (CP), Block 4:
This week, students will finish their analyses of the rise of democratic government in Greece. Both the Sparta and the Athens packets are due on Monday. Students with outstanding work for the unit are expected to turn it in before class on Wednesday or they will be subject to a late penalty. Students who need materials or have questions should see Mr. Cote before or after school in Room 2. There will be a packet on the Golden Age of Greece due on Wednesday. On Wednesday, we will have a competitive group activity where we will analyze the achievements of the Hellenistic Period. Bonus points are on the line, so students should bring their best game! For homework, students will complete a worksheet on the geography of Italy. On Friday, we will have a QUIZ over the Greek unit. Then, we will begin our investigation of the rise of the Roman Republic. There will be a packet on the growth of the Roman Republic for homework over the weekend.
Red Day (Hon), Block 4:
This week, students will transition from the analysis of the rise of democratic government in Greece to the evolution of the republic in Rome. On Tuesday, we will have a class discussion of the Hellenistic era and then a presentation concerning the origin of Rome. For homework, students will have a primary source concerning the Roman idea of government. On Thursday, we will have a QUIZ on the Greek unit. Then, we will generate a class analysis of the workings of the Roman Republic in groups. There will be a packet on the growth of the Roman Republic for homework over the weekend.
