We discussed the rise of the polis in Ancient Greece today, together with the rise and fall of tyranny, and the emergence of political science. For homework tonight, students should work on their Sparta packets for completion by next class. Next class, we will have an Athens packet, and will begin a student analysis of the emergence of democracy in Greece.
