White Day (CP), Block 4:
This week, we will complete our investigation of Rome with the change from Republic to Empire and the eventual collapse of the Ancient World. On Wednesday, we will have classwork on the transition from Republic to Empire and will begin our review for the coming exam on Greece and Rome (05/28). Students will have an official review sheet. Proper completion of this review sheet will count for 1/3 of the exam grade. On Friday, I will give a short powerpoint on the collapse of the Ancient World, and students will be able to complete their review sheets in class. Students will also be expected to collect all of their materials for inclusion in their portfolios. Over the long weekend, students should study for the exam.
Red Day (Hon), Block 4:
Tuesday is competitive History Jeopardy day. This team-based activity will result in big points for some lucky students. Our team captains are: Brandon, Kim, Emily, and Matt B. Best of luck everyone! After the game, I will review outlines for the REALLY BIG ESSAY, while students have a chance to compare and review their review guides for the Greece & Rome Exam on Thursday (05/22). Post-exam, students will have a chance to start on their homework for the long weekend: a primary source reading on the Middle Ages, and the Electronic Passport to the Middle Ages.
